Highworth Passion Play

Who’s involved?

The Highworth Passion will be 75 minutes long, but it’s still the culmination of 18 months planning and rehearsals.

This community event will involve the participation of nearly 200 people from across Highworth and nearby towns in such varied roles as singers, musicians, actors, technicians and stewards.

What time does the Passion start?

The main Passion event will start at

8 pm, but warm-up acts will be playing on the Main Stage in Highworth’s Market Place from 7.00 pm. Please make sure that you arrive in good time and follow directions given by the stewards.

Where can I see the action?

The Main Stage will be in the Market Place, but action will also take place around the centre of the Highworth and this will be filmed live and relayed to screens in the Market Place and the United Reformed Church.

Highworth’s High Street, Sheep Street, Market Square and Vicarage Lane will be a pedestrians-only zone (save for emergency vehicle access) from 10 am to 12 Midnight.

Seating will not be provided for the audience in the Market Place, but there will be reserved areas for disabled visitors and those with younger children.

Please come warmly wrapped up! Undercover, seated accommodation will be available in the United Reformed Church (URC) by reserved ticket only. Tickets for the URC will be available from Saturday 8th March on a first-come, first-served basis from The Lighthouse Bookshop in Highworth (a maximum of 3 tickets per caller) or through this site. Use of the URC is encouraged for those who would find standing outside for 75 minutes to be a challenge.

How much does it cost to watch the event?

There’s no charge! The event has been generously supported by a number of sponsors from around the town.

What happens if it rains?

The show will go on - although if it is

too windy the fireworks may be cancelled.

Wear something warm and waterproof.
